Reflection
When this assignment was presented in class, I have to admit, I was a little overwhelmed. After I chose my topic, I could not wait to get started. While looking for videos for this assignment, I had a hard time picking one because there were so many to choose from. This assignment really opened my eyes as to how often inappropriate teacher/student contact occurs. I was stunned at the number of text messages and phone calls sent to students by their teachers. In my video and article search, I was glad to see that many states are putting laws and guidelines in place to keep students safe.
I think this Blog project would be a great assignment for all grade levels. I am going for K-3 certification. I would use this for third graders. I would have each student pick an animal and have them go through the same process. They could then choose two sources and answer questions. Instead of an article and video, I would have them choose an article and a picture. I think it would also be great if the students drew and colored their own picture and uploaded it on to the class Blog.
